Foster Youth College Success Campaign - 10th Anniversary

Help us advocate for the continued funding of the Foster Youth College Success Initiative (FYCSI). Over the past decade, FYCSI has connected foster care youth and alumni to financial support and comprehensive resources on college campuses. From 2015-2024, more than 2,000 young people with a foster care background have received direct support through the program. 

Nationwide, just 18 to 24 percent of youth in care will enroll in college after high school and less than 3 percent will go on to graduate. FYCSI provides these foster care youth and alumni with the necessary resources to earn a college degree and achieve true independence. But the program needs continued funding in order to make an impact. Join us for our Advocacy Day in Albany to ensure FYCSI can continue to support thousands of young people with a foster care background from across New York State!

Advocacy Day Agenda

9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The day will include:

  • Press conference/rally
  • Legislative meetings
  • A light breakfast and lunch will be provided

 

T-shirts will be mailed to the address you provide
*Bus will leave from FYSA’s offices at 117 West 124th Street, New York, NY 10027. Seats are limited and are available on a first come, first served basis

Training: All participants are required to view our virtual Advocacy Day training. This will be a prerecorded session sent to all registered participants in advance of our January 28 Advocacy Day in Albany.
